Baby and child massage
baby massage · infant massage · pediatric massage therapy · massage for children
A specialist gently massages and stretches your baby's body and does simple exercises with them. This helps muscles and movement develop.
For high or low muscle tone, a stiff neck (torticollis), delayed motor development, or as a general strengthening massage, as a pediatrician or neurologist prescribes.
⏱ Duration: a session usually takes 20 to 40 minutes; a course is usually about 10 sessions

Be sure to tell your doctor
How to prepare
- Feeding. Feed your baby no later than 40 to 60 minutes before the massage. It is not done right after a feed.
- Health. If your child is ill, reschedule the session.
- Sleep. Best to pick a time when your baby is usually awake and alert.
What to bring
- A blanket and a diaper

Common questions
Does a healthy baby need massage?
Most often, stroking and play at home are enough. A pediatrician will decide if a course is needed.
What if my baby cries the whole session?
Tell the specialist. Sometimes a different time or a shorter session helps.
