Holter ECG for children
Holter monitor for kids · 24-hour ECG for a child · pediatric Holter monitoring
Sensors are stuck on your child's chest, and a small device records their ECG for 24 hours. Your child goes about a normal day.
When a child has a racing heart, fainting, or chest pain, or the doctor heard skipped beats.
⏱ Duration: usually worn for 24 hours; results come in 1 to 3 days

Be sure to tell your doctor
How to prepare
- Bathing. Bathe your child the day before. They cannot wash with the device on.
- Clothing. A loose undershirt or T-shirt, so the wires do not get in the way.
- Talk about it. Explain to your child that the sensors must not be touched or pulled off.
- Diary. Write down what your child did and felt: play, sleep, and complaints.

Common questions
Can my child run around with the Holter?
Yes. Normal activity is actually needed. But no water and no swimming pool.
What if a sensor comes off?
Press it back on and write down the time. If it came off completely, call the clinic.
