MAR test (antisperm antibodies)
MAR test · antisperm antibodies · sperm antibody test · immune infertility in men
In the lab, sperm are checked under a microscope to see if antibodies are stuck to them. These antibodies make it hard for sperm to move and fertilize an egg.
For a couple's infertility, if sperm clump together or move poorly on a semen analysis, and after injury or surgery on the testicles.
⏱ Duration: giving the sample usually takes 10 to 20 minutes; results usually come the same or next day

Be sure to tell your doctor

Common questions
Can I collect the sample at home?
Sometimes it is allowed, if you can bring it in warm within a short time. Ask the lab about the rules.
Can I use a condom to collect it?
Not a regular one. It contains substances that harm sperm. Use only the container from the lab.
