Urine drug test
urine drug screen · drug test · toxicology screen · workplace drug test · substance test
You give urine in a container. The test shows whether drugs or some strong medicines have been in your body.
For certificates for work, a gun license, or a driver's license; at an employer's request; or for medical checkups.
⏱ Duration: collecting takes 5 to 10 minutes; a rapid result comes in a few minutes; a confirming lab test usually takes a few days

Be sure to tell your doctor
How to prepare
- ID. Bring your ID. Without it, the test for a certificate is usually not accepted.
- Medicines. Do not stop them on your own. Write down what you take and tell the nurse.
- Drinking. Drink as usual. Do not drink extra water. Urine that is too diluted may be rejected.

Common questions
Can a regular medicine make the test positive?
Yes, some medicines affect the rapid test. That is why you should name them. Unclear cases are checked with a precise method.
Why is urine collected while observed?
It is a rule for certificates, to make sure the sample is not swapped. It is the same for everyone.
